Saturday 30/04/22 – NAPLES – AGNONE – CASTELPETROSO – SULMONA
Meeting with the participants in the agreed place, accommodation in bus g.t. and departure for Agnone. Stop along the way to have breakfast consisting of croissant and fruit juice. Continue to Agnone arriving in time for the guided tour to the famous Museum of Bells , which houses a vast collection of bells from the year one thousand to the present day. The Museum of the millenary Pontifical Marinelli Foundry preserves documentation on the ancient art of bronze casting, a unique artistic, historical and cultural heritage: ancient and recent bells, sketches and reproductions, evidence of important events such as the bell of the Centenary of the Unification of Italy, of the Second Vatican Council, the Kennedy Bell, the prototype of the large bell of the Jubilee 2000. Sunday 01/05/22 – SULMONA – HISTORICAL TRAIN – NAPLES
Breakfast at the hotel. 09.00 am departure of the historic train from Sulmona, panoramic itinerary going up the Peligna Valley and Colle Mitra passing Pettorano sul Gizio and Cansano, entering the territory of the Maiella National Park. 10.20 arrival at the Palena station, in the splendid scenery of the Quarto di Santa Chiara at over 1200 meters above sea level, for an intermediate day stop in the station, set up with a refreshment point and a small market of typical products of the area. The Palena station has always been one of the most fascinating places on the line, due to its particular position as a pass which makes it the starting point of the paths of the Maiella National Park as well as one of the most appreciated and photographed for the enchanting naturalistic surrounding context. . 11:20 am departure of the historic train from Palena station. The itinerary continues overcoming the Highlands of Abruzzo, touching the other two stations over 1200 meters of altitude of the line: Rivisondoli-Pescocostanzo and Roccaraso. 12.45 pm arrival in Castel di Sangro where our bus awaits us. Goodbye lunch in a restaurant. In the early afternoon departure for Naples with expected arrival in the evening.
